Reset your iPhone or iPad
Prepare your devices for return in five simple steps.
Whether you’re trading up for a new device, or returning your old kit, follow this guide to ensure your iPhone or iPad is wiped and ready for collection.
Step 1 - Back up your data
Before you trade in your iPhone or iPad, it’s crucial to back up your data to avoid losing important information.
You can back up your iPhone by following these steps using iCloud or iTunes:
iCloud Backup:
Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup and tap Back Up Now.
iTunes Backup:
Connect your iPhone to your computer, open iTunes, select your device, and click Back Up Now.
Step 4 - Remove devices from Apple Business Manager
From the Home Screen, follow these steps:
- Sign in as a user that has the role of Administrator or Device Enrolment Manager.
- Select “Devices” in the sidebar, search for a device in the search field, then select the device from the list.
- Carefully read the dialogue, check the box “I understand that this cannot be undone”, then select “Release“.
- Verify that the devices have been removed by searching for the devices in the search field at the top of the window.
