About the School

Saint Nicholas School, founded in 1939 in Churchgate Street near Harlow, is an independent school for boys and girls aged three to sixteen.
The school challenges, supports, and enthuses every child to achieve their best, focusing on academic success and personal development. With a broad Christian ethos, it welcomes children of all faiths and none.
Pupils learn to respect each other and the wider community, embracing differing views and opinions. The school produces happy, confident young people with high aspirations.

Saint Nicholas aimed to provide iPads to both teachers and students for 1:1 computing, making Apple devices obligatory in the classroom.
For students without an Apple device, the school offered a monthly subscription service for years 9, 10, and 11. Parents and students could choose an Apple device from a school-created catalogue, with the school securing the device via MDM and parents paying via direct debit.
As a smaller school with no IT support team, they sought to outsource the entire program, including day-to-day support and cost-effective insurance against theft or damage.

MDM capabilities include updating software and device settings, monitoring compliance with organizational policies, and remotely wiping or locking devices.
